Hello!

I started working on this recipe last year, but unfortunately a tainted batch of mascarpone found its way into my recipe testing and it’s taken me this long to revisit this delicious dessert without feeling queasy.

With the hot weather upon us, the timing of this recipe is perfect—ice-cold tiramisu is light and refreshing, the components require very little action over the stove, and there just aren’t enough coffee-flavored desserts.

The ladyfingers bake in just 10 minutes and would also make a wonderful trifle or accompaniment to ice-cream or granita. There are several GF ladyfinger brands out there such as this one or this one too, if you don’t want to make your own.

I tried out many, many versions of the filling—all mascarpone (which is traditional) vs. added heavy cream, with and without egg whites, no added yolks, as well as variations on the espresso/coffee soak with Marsala, coffee liqueur, and rum.
